But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ~Matthew 5:44
Today it was announced that our President has COVID. My spirit told me to pray for him and his family, just as I would pray for others. President Trump has not presented himself as a friend to me, but God says to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. It is not a tune to rejoice in his suffering because vengeance and judgement belong to God. It may seem counterintuitive, but we ( I) have to do things Gods way. In Romans 14:12 he tells us to bless and not curse. If we do God’s will we will be blessed. So I pray for my enemies and those would seek to persecute me. I pray that their hearts and minds works be turned towards Jesus just as I pray that mine will. I pray for their health and well being. I pray that love abound more.
Father, it’s not always easy to pray for those who have hurt us or sought our harm, but Your word tells us to so we trust You. We trust You to give us victory over our enemies and the umpiring to bless them in spite of so that You will be glorified. In Jesus name. Amen
In encouraged that you’re willing to pray for a man that you do not like. Why do you consider him to be your enemy? What has he done that personally impacts you or your loved ones?
ReplyDeleteThe Holy Spirit gave me a heart check on this also.
ReplyDeleteRomans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
I am grateful to God that he blessed you with this Word. This is very difficult territory for many Christians who disagree with the president's actions and beliefs. Yet, God's Word is Truth and Law. We have been commanded to love one another. We should pray for all of God's children.
