Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.~ Psalm 91:1
I was reading a Lysa Terkeurst post that asked which attribute(characteristic) of God that you are most grateful for. My immediate response was the He is my refuge. Jehovah Machsi(Psalm 91:9).
There is no coincidence that this characteristic of God and name of God is the one I am leading a Bible Study class in tonight. Just like it is no coincidence that I have needed to run into the shelter of the Almighty these past months. God knew and He provides.
I am a teacher and sometimes the enemy hits me first thing in the morning with a frustrating situation. I wish I could say that I am all holy and righteous and just take everything in stride. No, I vent. I get too easily offended. I get overwhelmed and then God breathes on me. He reminds me that He is my safe place.
You see the enemy does not get the last word because I dwell in the presence of the Lord and He cast a huge shadow. He covers me. His Spirit redirects me and corrects me. He reminds when to stay in my lane. He covers my mouth and fills it with praise. He reminds me that I need to extend grace and love. He shows me the way. I pray and I seek His face. This is how I fight me battles, by trusting God to fight them for me. By staying in my safe place during the storms…in the arms of Jesus.
Lord, thank You for moving my grumpy to faithfulness. Thank You for being my refuge and breathing fresh life into me. Thank You for another chance. In Jesus name. Amen
